Choose the right dumpster size for your waste disposal
A critical part of any home renovation project is getting rid of the debris by putting it in a dumpster that is a match for the project. Home improvement jobs that require the removal of cement, bricks or cinder blocks will require the 6- or 10-cubic yard dumpsters. Taking on a whole house renovation will require our largest unit, the 30-cubic yard dumpster, which can handle big jobs. To get a better idea of which of our five dumpsters will be a good fit for your project, check out the following table.
Dumpster size
6 cubic yards
Capable of holding up to 4,000 lbs of debris, this dumpster is used for bricks, dirt and concrete and small clean out jobs.
10 cubic yards
With a capacity of up to 5,000 lbs, this dumpster is also for concrete and bricks, but also is used for small remodeling jobs, two-car garage cleanouts and roof projects no larger than 1,000 square feet.
15 cubic yards
Capable of handling roof projects of up to 1,500 square feet, this dumpster will hold up to 6,000 lbs, making it a good choice for medium-size remodeling jobs.
20 cubic yards
When you’re tackling larger remodeling jobs and need a dumpster with the capacity for holding up to 8,000 lbs of debris, this is your unit. Roofing jobs on up to 2,200 square feet and three car garage cleanout projects are also matches for this dumpster.
30 cubic yards
Our largest dumpster can hold up to 11,000 lbs of waste. Large remodeling jobs, new construction, demolitions and whole house window and siding projects are all good examples of what this unit is used for.
If you have more questions about what size dumpster matches your waste disposal needs, contact us and we’ll talk about your project and which dumpster will be the most appropriate for you.
What renovation debris can go into a dumpster?
One of the more frequent questions we get at A City Suburban Dumpsters is in regard to what kind of renovation debris can actually go in the dumpsters. The answer is that if the debris can legally be placed in the landfill, it can go into one of our dumpsters. Obviously, nothing hazardous/toxic can go in them. This includes solvents, fuels, oils, asbestos, some appliances, electronics or flammable products.
The following are some of the more common types of items generated by renovation projects and go into the dumpster:
- Flooring and tile: Includes hardwood flooring, tiles and laminate boards.
- Structural debris: Siding, drywall, windows, lumber, plaster, metal and foam.
- Outdoor materials: Brick, pavers, concrete, masonry, pipe, asphalt, stone and tiles.
- Insulation materials: Cellulose, fiberglass, vermiculite, foams, perlite, polystyrene and polyurethane.
How much does remodeling dumpster rental cost?
Just about all of our customers at A City Suburban Dumpsters have a budget that they want to maintain during their renovation project, which is why one of the most popular questions we field is about the cost of a dumpster. The cost will vary depending on what size unit you rent.
The following is our price structure, which includes a five-day rental, drop off and pickup:
- 6 cubic yards: $340
- 10 cubic yards: $370
- 15 cubic yards: $390
- 20 cubic yards: $420
- 30 cubic yards: $510
As you see, we’re competitively priced, but we’re also focused on pleasing the customer, which means we are prompt with our pickup and delivery. We’ve built a reputation on it, so contact us today if you have any questions about our pricing.
