Burr Ridge dumpster rental requirements
The village of Burr Ridge requires that construction type debris must be stacked and/or bundled in lengths no longer than 4 feet and no larger than 2 feet in diameter. This means that if you’re taking on a project that will generate more refuse than your garbage haulers are willing to pick up, you’ll need to rent a dumpster.
The best-case-scenario is to have your dumpster dropped off upon your property, such as in your driveway, and not on public property.
Do you need a permit to keep a roll-off dumpster on your property in Burr Ridge
There are many home improvement projects that Burr Ridge residents undertake that require a permit. It’s always wise to check with your city code enforcement team to ensure that you’ve pulled the right permits covering the work you’re doing.
Fortunately, if you can put your rented dumpster in your driveway or anywhere else on your property, you can avoid having to pull a permit for it. A dumpster placed in a public area, however, will require a permit. Public places include parking lots, sidewalks, the street and alleyways.
If you have questions about city codes, contact the Public Works or Building Department at Burr Ridge City Hall. These are the entities that enforce construction regulation, but they are also responsible for providing permits for dumpsters on public property. You can read more about the various requirements here if you’re in a hurry, you’ll be happy to know that most applications for permits are authorized within 24 hours, but be ready to plan accordingly so your permit is in your hand before your dumpster arrives.
Rent the right size roll off dumpster for your project
Among the most often asked questions is in regard to which size dumpster will be appropriate for specific types of jobs. At A City Suburban Service, we make it easy for you. There are five sizes from which to choose:
6 cubic yards
Our smallest dumpster is best suited for small projects that generate up to 4,000 lbs of debris. Also, this is one of the only dumpsters you can use for getting rid of cement, yard waste and bricks.
10 cubic yards
Managing up to 5,000 lbs of debris, this dumpster is great for a 2-car garage cleanout or a small remodeling project. This is also the largest unit you can rent for removing yard waste, cement and bricks.
15 cubic yards
If you’re removing a single layer of roofing, this 6,000 lb capacity unit will be the one you want. It can also handle medium-sized remodeling jobs.
20 cubic yards
If you’re delving into a larger project, such as a big remodeling job, 3-car garage cleanout/construction or a deck removal, you’ll want this 8,000 lb capacity unit.
30 cubic yards
The largest in our fleet of dumpsters, this one is used for new construction projects, large remodeling jobs, demolishing small garages or sheds, or whole house windows/siding jobs that generate no more than 11,000 lbs of debris.
